Calling all Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors who love being outdoors and learning about nature! The Outdoor Academy is for you in Carlsbad, NM!

In this 2-day, hands-on program, you will become Leave No Trace certified, investigate desert ecology and river habitats, make a herbarium, do river water testing, explore desertification, learn orienteering, and more! We will explore the highs of the local mesas and the lows along the river.  (Saturday is 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Sunday is 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.)

Then, you take what you learned and teach younger Girl Scouts in your own troop, a sister troop, a new troop, or even make a short video to be shared nation wide! You will be the "expert" and have the knowledge to share and the tools to use. The choice of what you want to share is up to you.

NOTE: You will complete requirements for several badges at all Girl Scout levels.
